There are few areas of the law where the quality of a client's
life depends so much on the lawyer chosen to handle the case. The practice
of personal injury law therefore presents significant responsibilities
for the lawyer, and choosing the right lawyer is of great importance to
a person who has been injured. We take those responsibilities
very seriously. Also, make sure to record the names of any emergency personnel such as police officers or paramedics who respond to the scene. In addition, pay close attention to the behavior of those involved.
You should try to report these observations and potential
evidence to the reporting police officer as soon as you are able. In general,
while it may be difficult to stay focused in such a stressful situation,
writing down your observations of the accident scene may help you prevail
in any lawsuit that results from the accident later on. Once you are able,
or as soon thereafter as possible, you should contact a competent personal
injury attorney to discuss your case and the facts and circumstances surrounding
the accident, before you make any statements
to insurance company investigators, agents, or lawyers. Click here for the Personal Injury FAQ page.
